What is the difference between Speech and Language?

Speech refers to the sounds that come out of the mouth to make words.

Language refers to what we read, write, speak and understand. Language is how we express ourselves by using gestures.
Expressive language is what we say and what gestures we use so others understand.      Receptive language is how we interpret what others are saying through words or gestures.
